Un-Energetic Day Off

Verity and I have been working on a creative writing project for over a year. We have a clear, well-thought-out vision and the characters are rock solid. I've been planning to sit down and start sketching it out for several days; in fact, a few days ago, I dubbed today (Thursday) as the day when all creative fiction would rejoice at welcoming the rough draft of a very inexperienced writer.

Well, so. What happened, you ask? I sat there at the computer just staring at it, like I was defying it. Absolutely no words were coming into my head and my thoughts resembled what a dog looks like when it lies down while the owner is trying to walk him on a leash. Alas.

What's funny, or perhaps ironic is a better word, is that I have many story ideas in my head just zooming around. Zoom, zoom, zoom... until they crash and explode when my fingers go to type them into existence. Pesky zoomers.

So I decided to start blogging instead. A harmless way to express myself without hurting any owners or leashes. Because really, I have all of these random thoughts and sentences that go through my head and about once a day I have an urge to share an anecdote via pen but do I? No. Why? Because I haven't been blogging.

Silly, really.

Meanwhile, whilst I angst about my own unwillingness/inability (I'm not sure which it is at the moment) to write, the sun is shining here in Oregon... in January. There are like five furry creatures running around the house, too (three belong to a married sister). So what am I going to do? I'm going to go to the gym. That always makes me feel better.

Hasta luego.
